Great thoughts! And well-written to boot. Couldn't agree more with the sentinment -- there is (and needs to continue to be) a balance in the movie-making profession. I think great storytelling can generally stand on its own -- but when combined with great artistic talent (read: cinematography, music) and great entertainment value (read: special effects) it can transcend above our daily ho-hum lives. It can truly stretch us.

Of course, now I want to go home early and watch a movie!
